The 2010 Certificate students found that they all made new friends, supported each other and enjoyed meeting up at the various additional courses. Many swapped addresses and shared rooms or lifts when attending courses. Getting to know the staff at Acorn Ecology has also benefited some of the more local students who have been out on bat surveys and some have been sub-contracted to do surveys (once trained).
The work experience (certificate PLUS) is particularly valuable because you really find out what it is like working for a consultancy. Everyone enjoys working in the friendly atmosphere at Acorn Ecology where they are part of the team for the 4 weeks of the placement.
