Introduction to Bats

1 day (afternoon and evening)

An introduction to bats, for beginners.  Aimed at those who are keen to find out more, but have no real experience or knowledge of bats.  You will learn about:

·        Bat species in the UK

·        Basic bat biology

·        Adaptations for flight

·        Echolocation

·        Bat ecology – feeding, habitat, roosting, seasonality

·        Evening bat walk and use of basic detectors and listening to bat  sounds
