Reptile surveying and handling, 1-day course
This introductory level course will greatly enhance your understanding of reptile surveys and give you confidence in handlng reptiles. The course is especially relevant to consultancy as a huge proportion of consultancy work during the summer months involves reptile surveying and translocation projects. Field and classroom based at sites around Exeter.
During the day course you will:
• Learn to identify UK reptile species
• Learn best practice in handling of reptiles (including slow worms and non-native snakes)
• Carry out a field survey of a ‘development site'
• Learn about surveying and mitigation strategies.
Once you have booked this course, we will send your booking confirmation, details of course venue and directions, programme for the day, what to bring list and a list of local accomodation providers.
Please note that during the course, you will be required to walk up to 3km on uneven ground, so please be sure that you are capable of this before booking.
